“Youth” is everywhere right now. They do not consider themselves to be too young to be pampered, and even they are not supposed to be old enough to take responsibility on their own shoulders
Youth is a not biological age but rather a mindset. Pakistan is essentially a young country – almost half of the population falls under the age of twenty (56.5%).The main problem is the communication gap between them and their elders. Before years ago communication and education were so easy to afford from other person and not so high in prize that could cause depression or unusual issues but now the system is all change.
Today’s Youth bigger section is students and more than 70% of students have suffered from many complications such as depression, Tension and anxiety and day by day it’s increasing, due to this they can’t properly concentrate on their studies, so that they can’t get rid of their depression. Over the past decade, the university’s student suicide rate has been 10.2 per 100,000 students, according to a Globe review of public records as well as university and media reports. Moreover recently MIT’s suicide rate has been even higher; over the past five years the campus has reported 12.5 suicides per 100,000 students. Media have already risen this issue and reported several times but not has been properly probed. On account of this student face psychological, social, financial pull and pressure. Actually uncertainty crops up as formal and informal institutions have been dysfunctional, proper guidance is not given to students, whether at home, school as well as society. unusual problem lies not only in education but it involves in our life.
Sometimes parents became the reason of depression of their child because parent’s pressure to excel in studies verses a general disregard to other extracurricular activates can cause an unusual complex in the mind of students. This leaves him frustrated between his basic choices and the ability to fulfill parent’s expectations. you can take an example of 2010’s movie 3idiot in which they delivered a message that parent should not be crabbed on their child but they have to appreciate their child choice if they pressurize their child that could be cause Huge depression or may their child attempt suicide as you see in the movie.
Another problem faced by younger people is separation of parents these days. This problem is very common in Pakistan. According to Nisha “ she is a young female from Faisalabad and she feels the most pressing issues young adults are facing are broken families, the lack of love and support, and money. Ultimately the family issues have a much great impact on students than ever will”. Is there such a thing as “family values” anymore? Has our society become so ego-centric and materialistic that selfless love has gone out the window? People should realize the truth because this is having a bad effect on our youth.
In researching some of the challenges college students face today, there is an interesting survey. It is really sad to read these statistics and to realize the impact on our future children due to the breakdown in marriages today. Many women shoulder all of the responsibilities and the children in the end suffer the most trauma. I think it is due time that the men out there stand up and be responsible. Children should be taught in high school more about healthy relationships, parenting, and responsible living. Indeed, we can’t keep going on this path. It is time to wake up a society living in denial, abuse and irresponsibility to what it is doing to our society and children. Some traditions and morals need to have a fashionable comeback to reverse what is an almost anything goes, at whatever cost destructive way of life.
Men should be more responsible and accountable. Those statistics do not mention how many men are considered criminal in their neglect of their children with the results being many young people living in poverty and facing these struggles mentioned. Unfortunately, very few children receive the support they are entitled to with little consequence to men. However, truly we all are seeing the consequence that can only become worse without planned measures for change.
The talent of Pakistani youth has been crushed for many years but time is proving that Pakistani youth is the most talented youth worlds have ever seen. Youth around the western world gets grooming from the developed organizations however Pakistani youth is only youth that is making records in the field of technology, computer science and sports without the availability of properly structured learning institutes. The youth that is making achievements at national and international levels have done so because they got the opportunity. From getting job opportunity to learn the technical skills and from getting admission in the medical college to any other thing; talented youth of the country is facing very tough time. But here is an ugly face of this uncertainty that is employment this thing chewing the youth like rabbit ate carrot due to all this Because the old system has taught them that they will get good job only if they have strong connections with any minister instead of having good skills. If our country is unable to give fair opportunities to the youth then their talent will keep on wasting that will prove disastrous for the whole country.
We have to prepare our youth to face the challenges of the time with unshakable courage and youthful confidence. Sana a student of Kinnaird College said what makes you believe Pakistan is making progress. The role of youth is the same for 500yrs.They have no role particularly if they are female. So more attention should be provided otherwise it will have a very bad impact on youth as well as our society. Our asset will soon become some others country asset. We should provide courage to youth to have a strong Pakistan.
